IQALUIT, NU - April 21, 2016 /CNW/ - Scotiabank is teaming up with the NHL^®, Project North, First Air and Canadian Tire Corporation to deliver 50 bags of new hockey equipment and an unforgettable experience to seven communities in northern Canada on April 28-30.

We want to thank all of our partners, including the NHL^®, Project North, First Air and Canadian Tire Corporation for helping us make this happen."

In partnership with Project North, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children in Canada's North, Scotiabank and Canadian Tire Corporation are each donating 25 bags of hockey equipment to the communities of Kugluktuk and Igloolik.

The iconic Stanley Cup^® will be visiting seven communities with NHL Alumni^™ Lanny McDonald and Mark Napier. The tour will go to Kugluktuk, Resolute Bay, Arctic Bay, Pond Inlet, Igloolik, Cambridge Bay and Yellowknife.

"The Stanley Cup -- the most revered trophy in professional sports -- has traveled many miles. It's been to some of the greatest landmarks around the world and for amazing causes, and we're thrilled to help bring it to Kugluktuk, Resolute Bay, Arctic Bay, and Igloolik for the first time for this worthwhile initiative," said Laurie Kepron, NHL Group Vice President, Marketing.

First Air, the official airline of Project North, will navigate the tour which kicks off Thursday, April 28, in Kugluktuk.

An itinerary can be found below:

Thursday, April 28:

• Twenty-five bags of new equipment will be donated to students at the Kugluktuk Recreation Complex.
• Resolute Bay residents will then have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Stanley Cup^® and NHL Alumni^™

Friday, April 29:

• The group will travel to the communities of Arctic Bay and Pond Inlet. 

Saturday, April 30:

• Twenty-five bags of new hockey equipment will be donated to the community of Igloolik.
• The tour will continue in Cambridge Bay before making its last stop in Yellowknife.
