IQALUIT, NU - April 27, 2016 /CNW/ - Scotiabank and its partners, the NHL®, Project North, First Air and Canadian Tire Corporation, are inviting northern communities to a special celebration of hockey, Thursday, April 28 to Saturday, April 30.
The iconic Stanley Cup® will be visiting seven communities with NHL Alumni™Lanny McDonald and Mark Napier.
Details of the tour are below (all times are local). The Stanley Cup® and NHL Alumni™ will be at each location and interview opportunities with the following people will be available at each stop:

Friday, April 29 :
What:
Community celebration of hockey with the Stanley Cup®, featuring a cultural presentation with throat singing taking place on the sea ice. Local community members are invited to participate in a special skate lead by NHL Alumni™ Lanny McDonald and Mark Napier at an outdoor skating rink.
When:
11:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.

On the sea-ice rink within the community, Arctic Bay

What:
There will be a parade from the airport to the beach with the Stanley Cup®, NHL Alumni™, the RCMP, fire department and hockey fans from the community. The Cup will then be taken to the beach for a photo op near an iceberg.

Saturday, April 30 :
What:
Scotiabank and the NHL® are hosting a celebration of hockey, where local hockey fans can take their photo with the Stanley Cup® and get autographs from NHL Alumni™. Scotiabank and Canadian Tire will be donating 25 bags of new hockey equipment to the local community centre.
