Bank Committed to Helping Customers Impacted by Flooding
TORONTO, ON - May 1, 2019 - Scotiabank is donating $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to provide emergency relief and support for communities impacted by flooding in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.
“Our thoughts are with the people of the communities affected by the flooding in Eastern Canada,” said John Doig, Executive Vice President Retail Distribution, at Scotiabank. “We recognize the personal circumstances of our customers and employees and remain committed to working with them to accommodate their needs during this challenging time.”
In addition to this donation, Scotiabank is supporting its customers in a number of ways, including deferrals of mortgage, credit card and line of credit payments, and fee reimbursement for unplanned transactions.
Donations to the relief efforts can be made at any Scotiabank branch in Canada until Tuesday, May 14th. Funds will go to the Canadian Red Cross, which will provide aid based on needs identified across impacted regions in the form of shelter, clothing, food, or recovery assistance.
