TORONTO, ON - November 12, 2013 /CNW/ - Scotiabank today pledged a donation of C$100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist in relief efforts in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan.

"Our thoughts are with the people of the Philippines, their families and friends as rescue efforts continue in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan," said Brian Porter, Scotiabank's President and CEO. "We recognize that the effects of this disaster are far reaching and along with our customers and employees, we want to contribute to the relief efforts being coordinated through the Red Cross." 

Donations can also be made at Scotiabank branches from November 13 until December 13, 2013.
