Former Canadian women's hockey Olympians Sami Jo Small and Cherie Piper are teaming up to coach over 120 female minor hockey players at Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest Manitoba in Brandon on Monday, February 17, 2014. Hockey Manitoba and Scotiabank are bringing the event to the selected players on day two of Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest Manitoba; Winnipeg has its turn on Sunday, February 16, 2014.

The girls will have an unforgettable day of skills training, fun and encouragement to inspire them to reach for their goals. The all-day event is comprised of on and off-ice training, a community outreach component and a keynote address from both coaches. During the event, there will also be a special goalie clinic and a training program for hockey coaches.

Sami Jo Small, two-time Olympic gold medalist and co-founder of the Canadian Women's Hockey League        
Cherie Piper, three-time Olympic gold medalist and former member of Team Canada Women's Hockey
Led by certified coaches and instructors from Hockey Manitoba
Over 120 minor girls hockey players from novice, atom, and peewee levels (ages 7 - 12 years)

WHEN: 
Monday, February 17, 2014
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Girls will rotate between on and off-ice skills training, a community outreach component and a keynote address.
9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Special coaches' clinic which rotates between on ice training, a classroom session and the keynote address. 
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Sami Jo Small & Cherie Piper keynote presentation
