TORONTO, ON - March 06, 2014 /CNW/ - The Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am has made 15 new additions to its roster for the ninth annual hockey tournament taking place in Toronto from May 1 - 3, 2014. The new "draft picks" for teams who have raised $25,000 or more for Alzheimer's research, education and care at Baycrest Health Sciences are NHL alumni Joe Nieuwendyk, Bryan Berard, Curtis Joseph, Bryan Trottier, Darryl Sittler, Marcel Dionne, Paul Coffey, Ray Bourque, Guy Carbonneau, Denis Savard, Marty McSorley, Theo Fleury, Shayne Corson, Brad May, Mike Krushelnyski, Bryan Muir, Gilbert Dionne, Dave McLlwain, Gary Leeman, Pat Boutette, Brad Marsh, Rick Middleton and Bernie Nicholls.

These NHL stars will be joining previously announced alumni Doug Gilmour, Darryl Sittler, Darcy Tucker, Gary Roberts, Kevin Maguire, Mark Napier, Todd Warriner and Dennis Maruk to lace up their skates alongside weekend warriors in an effort to "Stick it to Alzheimer's!"

The 2014 Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am also announced that the annual tournament will change venues, taking place for the first time at Toronto's state-of-the-art ice facility, Buckingham Arena. This new partnership will enhance all aspects of the tournament -- from heated flooring in all dressing rooms to the slick sports bar and restaurant -- ensuring all participants feel like pros!

In its nine-year history, the Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am has raised more than $23 million for Baycrest's programs on aging and brain health. Fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, Baycrest is at the forefront of cognitive neuroscience research aimed at preventing and controlling brain-related illnesses.
