TORONTO, ON - September 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Scotiabank has been recognized by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) for building positive relations with Aboriginal businesses, people and communities.

Scotiabank received The Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Gold rating which recognizes companies that have demonstrated effective programs and policies to maximize involvement with the Canadian Aboriginal community.

This is the second consecutive time that Scotiabank has been recognized by CCAB at the PAR Gold Level. Scotiabank is one of only four companies in Canada that have been awarded with the distinction in 2014.

PAR provides companies with the ability to conduct a comprehensive self-assessment of their performance in four categories: employment, community investment, business development and community engagement. The results and findings are externally verified and rated by a jury. Gold certified companies exhibit long-standing leadership and sustainability in Aboriginal relations.
