20 teams scheduled to compete with special guest, former Toronto Maple Leaf player, Nick Kypreos

TORONTO, April 16, 2018 /CNW/ - As a showcase event for the Talk With Our Kids About Money (TWOKAM) Day program, downtown Toronto will be the scene of a Money Fair competition between approximately 20 teams of students.

The event is being held on Wednesday, April 18 – the cross-Canada TWOKAM Day. The program, created by the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE), and supported by Scotiabank, is designed to get teachers and parents engaged in helping young Canadians learn more about money and personal finances to prepare for their financial futures by providing them with free tools and resources designed to help them have relevant/age appropriate conversations about money.  The result is the creation of a Money Fair involving pairs of students selecting a money topic that is of interest to them, undertaking research to explore and learn about that topic, and preparing a creative presentation that showcases the outcome of their research and what they learned.

In 2017, over 650,000 young people and 5,500 schools across Canada participated in TWOKAM Day.
