Media Advisory - Scotiabank CEO Rick Waugh to address Empire Club of Canada

TORONTO, Sept. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Scotiabank CEO Rick Waugh will deliver a speech entitled, The future of financial services: finding the right balance for stability and economic growth, on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Empire Club of Canada.

Mr. Waugh, who has served for several years as Vice Chair of the Institute of International Finance, will be stepping down after 10 years as CEO of Scotiabank on November 1, 2013.

WHAT:  Scotiabank CEO Rick Waugh's speech will explore the effect regulation is having on the financial industry and the global economy, and the need for a strong risk culture to ensure stable banks around the world.

The ECC is recognized as one of Canada's oldest and largest speakers' forums with a membership comprised of some of Canada's most influential leaders from the professions, business, labour, education and government.
