HAMILTON, ON, Aug. 23, 2013 /CNW/ - With the CFL season in full swing, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Scotiabank today officially announced a new three year partnership making Scotiabank a Founding Partner of Tim Hortons Field, the new home of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Scotiabank will also remain the Official Bank of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to include the new stadium," said Kim Karges, Scotiabank District Vice President of Hamilton and Niagara Region. "We look forward to continuing our support of the Ticats, our long-time partner, and celebrate all that football and our community heroes bring to the city."
The partnership renewal with the team extends through the 2016 season. Over the course of the partnership, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Scotiabank will provide a range of fan initiatives and community programs, including the Scotiabank Game Changer program. The Scotiabank Game Changer program honours dedicated citizens for 'changing the game' in their local communities and recognizes the commitment and passion it takes to effect positive change.
"Scotiabank's support of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats has always been tremendous, said Glenn Gibson, President and COO, Hamilton Tiger-Cats. "Having Scotiabank as a Founding Partner of our new world-class stadium, Tim Hortons Field, is a natural fit and we look forward to seeing what we can achieve together, both in the community and on the field."
As part of the Scotiabank Game Changer program, during the first eight Hamilton Tiger-Cats home games each season, a community hero will be awarded $1,000 for the registered charity or non-profit cause of their choice. Scotiabank will also provide a $25,000 donation to a Scotiabank Game Changer finalist at the final home game of the year.
