Information for customers affected by Alberta floods

TORONTO, June 25, 2013 /CNW/ - Scotiabank is committed to helping its customers impacted by the flooding in Alberta. Scotiabank understands that this flooding is impacting each community and each person differently and that's why we're going to work with our customers individually through this difficult period.

Scotiabank is able to offer affected customers flexibility in a number of ways to help meet individual needs. This can include payment deferrals on loans, mortgages and credit cards, and fee reimbursement for unplanned transactions.

Personal and small business customers who are affected by the flooding can call 1-800-472-6842 to find information on local branch availability, to discuss their financial needs and to bank by phone. For Commercial Banking customers, please contact your Client Relationship Manager, or the Business Service Centre at 1-888-855-1234.

Scotiabank is supporting the relief efforts with a $100,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross. An account has been established and donations will be accepted for those affected by the Alberta flooding at any Scotiabank branch across Canada. The campaign will run from Wednesday, June 26, 2013 to Friday, July 26, 2013. The funds donated will go toward the Red Cross response providing relief to flood victims, as well as to meet longer-term needs for affected local residents.
