HUNTSVILLE, ON, April 29, 2013 /CNW/ - Scotiabank today announced a $10,000 donation to local relief efforts through Salvation Army to support communities affected by flooding in the Muskoka region, including Huntsville and Bracebridge.

"Many of Scotiabank's customers, employees and friends have been affected by the flooding," said Jim Karges, Scotiabank District Vice-President, Barrie and Muskoka Region.  "We want to demonstrate our support for the community in this time of need and support the work being done by aid groups in the area during this difficult time."

To further assist these communities, over the next 30 days, non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Scotiabank branches in Huntsville and Bracebridge which will then be distributed to local food banks.

Also both Branches will be contacting the local radio station to do a food drive for the next 30 days to support the food banks. Non perishable donations can be dropped off to both Huntsville & Bracebridge branches to be distributed to the food banks.
