Scotiabank National Game Changer to be announced at the 100^th Grey Cup

VANCOUVER, Nov. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - Sixteen-year-old Angel Magnussen has been named a Scotiabank National Game Changer Finalist for her passion and dedication to helping sick kids. Angel will be recognized on-field at the 100^th Grey Cup in Toronto where she could win $100,000 for Variety - The Children's Charity of British Columbia.

"The sick kids need special medicine to get better, they need to get home to see their families and friends and they need my Love Hats, they need wheelchairs, special talkers, they need walkers, electric wheelchairs and talking computers," said Angel Magnussen. "If I win the $100,000 Variety's kids will get all of these."

About Angel:

• Angel was born with Down Syndrome, and has made it her mission to help sick kids through her fundraising efforts.
• Angel can be found selling Gold Heart pins, collecting coins and knitting hats to raise money for Variety.
• Angel has her own fundraising cookbook called "Angel's Celebrity Charity Cookbook" benefitting Variety and pediatric care at three Vancouver Island hospitals
• Angel's goals are to help children be with their families when they are ill, to help every ill child go home from the hospital and to help raise money for kids who need specialized medical equipment

Angel is one of eight Scotiabank National Game Changer Finalists, one for every CFL market. The Scotiabank National Game Changer will be announced during the game and broadcast on TSN during the 100^th Grey Cup on November 25, 2012.
