Understanding donors is key for BC charities to thrive in continued challenging economy

Experts at fourth annual Scotiabank Philanthropic Advisory Forum offer strategies to strengthen and retain donor base

VANCOUVER, Sept. 24, 2012 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, September 26th, more than 125 charities will come together to receive expert advice at the Scotiabank Philanthropic Advisory Forum. The theme of the free forum 'What the donor wants: Insights into connecting with today's savvy donor" will explore ideas and best practices specific to the charitable sector in British Columbia with a focus on donor attraction and retention. This marks the fourth time that Scotiabank has hosted this popular public-service event. The series complements the Scotiabank Bright Future philanthropic program which provides support to communities where the Bank has operations across Canada and more than 55 countries.

  More than $675,000 in funds raised through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge will be presented to charities in attendance.
