MEDIA ALERT - The 2012 Scotiabank Junior Carnival Parade Dances to a New Venue

Free children's parade and Family Day event moves to Downsview Park, features a fun new program

TORONTO, July 5, 2012 /CNW/ - On Monday, July 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Downsview Park,  Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival organizers and members of the Caribbean Canadian community will announce the exciting new program and venue for the 2012 Junior Carnival Parade.

The Toronto Mas Band Association and The Organization of Calypso Performing Artistes will take part in the announcement, and children from several mas camps will show their new costumes for the first time. The announcement will also feature Junior Calypso singers, a dance group and steelpan performances.

Why:       To announce the new venue and program additions for the 2012
Children's Carnival which moves to a new home due to the popularity of
the event. Over 2,000 children in mas costumes are expected to take part
in the parade, which will make it the largest children's carnival parade in
North America.
