TORONTO, June 29, 2012 /CNW/ - Scotiabank today provided a $10,000 donation to the Algo Disaster Fund at our local branch in order to support the Elliot Lake community which has been the site of the tragic incident at the Algo Mall.
"As part of the Elliot Lake community Scotiabank is supporting the families and community through this difficult period," said Laurie Stang, Scotiabank Senior Vice-President, Ontario Region. "We want to support local residents that have been affected by this tragedy."
An account has been established and donations will be accepted for the Elliot Lake community at any Scotiabank branch across Ontario.
Funds donated will go toward the response providing immediate relief to families affected as well as to meet longer-term needs for local residents.
