    Media Advisory - Olympian Coach for over 200 Minor Girls Hockey Players at Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest Ottawa

    OTTAWA, Jan. 5, 2012 /CNW/ - Canadian women's hockey champion Sami Jo Small to coach over 200 female minor hockey players at Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest, Ottawa. The event takes place at Scotiabank Place and provides a unique blend of skills training, fun and encouragement to inspire girls to reach for their goals on and off the ice.

    The all-day event is comprised of on and off-ice training, a tour of Scotiabank Place, and a keynote address from the former Olympian on how hard work and dedication helped her reach her goals.

    WHAT:  Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest, Ottawa
       
    WHO:  Sami Jo Small, two time Olympic gold medalist and co-founder of the Canadian Women's Hockey League
    Players from the Carleton Ravens and the University of Ottawa's women's hockey teams
    Over 200 minor girls hockey players from novice, atom, peewee and bantam levels (ages 7 - 14 years)
       
    WHEN:  Saturday, January 7, 2012
    9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Girls will rotate between on-ice skills training, off-ice skills training, a skills competition and a keynote address.
    12:00 p.m. - Sami Jo Small keynote presentation begins
