Scotiabank Named One of Canada's Best Employers for the Eighth Consecutive Year

TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2011 /CNW/ - Scotiabank is very proud to have been named again as one of the Best Employers in Canada, based on a national employee survey conducted by Aon Hewitt and published in Maclean's magazine. Scotiabank ranked 23 out of 50 organizations named to the list.

"Over our 179 year history we have always believed that satisfied and engaged employees increase customer satisfaction, generate strong business results and add value to the communities we serve," said Sylvia Chrominska, Group Head of Global Human Resources and Communications for Scotiabank. "We are proud to have been named one of Canada's best employers for the eighth time. It is very gratifying to know our employees' feedback reflects our commitment to providing a supportive and engaging work environment."

The annual Best Employers list measures engagement and is the only national survey determined primarily by employees. Each year, Aon Hewitt, the human capital consulting and outsourcing solutions business of Aon Corporation, surveys employees, executives and Human Resources professionals to determine the top companies in Canada.
