TORONTO, Oct. 13, 2011 /CNW/ - The 22nd annual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5km
Run/Walk takes place this Sunday, October 16 starting at 9:00 a.m. An
estimated 22,000 competitors are expected to participate in the race and the Scotiabank Group
Charity Challenge, which supports 164 local charities. Spectators from neighbourhoods along the race route can also support
their local runners and raise money in the Neighbourhood Challenge,
where the top Cheering and Entertainment Centres will be awarded money
for their official charity. This year's event hopes to raise $3 million for participating local
charities.

Local Access:

Spadina Ave. will remain OPEN ALL DAY for uninterrupted North-South traffic and Gardiner Expressway access.
This is the BEST way in and out for downtown traffic.

Downtown-bound traffic from the Don Valley southbound can use the Richmond St. exit. However, if heading west of Church St,
traffic must head north to Dundas St. or beyond before continuing west.

Eastbound and westbound downtown traffic can flow uninterrupted all day on Dundas St., and all cross-streets
north of Dundas St.

Race day media sign-in and accreditation pick-up is open from 8:00 a.m.
and is located at the Finish Line at King/Bay St. A media workroom will also be made available inside the King Street
entrance of 44 King Street West beside Scotia Plaza.
