MEDIA ADVISORY: Hockey Greats and Scotiabank Group employees tee up to support Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter in 16th Annual Scotiabank Charity Golf Classic

CALGARY, July 28, 2011 /CNW/ -

WHAT:  Former NHL player Sheldon Kennedy and Calgary Hitmen GM Kelly Kisio tee up to serve as honourary co-chairs for the 16th Annual Scotiabank Charity Golf Classic in support of the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter - a fundraiser developed and run entirely by Scotiabank employee volunteers. Since Scotiabank employee volunteers launched the event in 1996, they have raised more than $750,000 for CWES.

  • Kelly Kisio, Honorary Tournament Co-Chair, Calgary Flames alumnus, retired NHL player, (Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers and San Jose Sharks) and Calgary Hitmen General Manager
 
  • Lisa Falkowsky, Executive Director, Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter;
 
  • George Marlatte, Scotiabank Senior Vice-President, Prairie Region;
 
  • Sabi Marwah, Scotiabank Group Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer;

  • Players will start coming off the course at approximately 12:30 - 1 p.m.
