MEDIA ADVISORY - Minor hockey girls of Oakville Hornets to receive skills training from two Olympians, Vicky Sunohara and Tessa Bonhomme at Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest

OAKVILLE, ON, Feb. 9 /CNW/ - Women's hockey champions Vicky Sunohara and Tessa Bonhomme will team up to bring Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada celebrations to Oakville, and coach 300 female minor hockey players from the Oakville Hornets Hockey Association at Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest, Oakville.  The event takes place at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex and provides a unique blend of skills training, fun and encouragement to inspire girls to reach for their goals both on and off the ice.

WHAT:  Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest, Oakville Hornets. Part of the cross-Canada celebrations of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada.
   
WHO:  Vicky Sunohara, 2002 & 2006 Olympic gold medalist and former Assistant Captain, Team Canada Women's Hockey;
  Tessa Bonhomme, 2010 Olympic gold medalist and Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) 2010 top draft pick; 
  Players from local CWHL teams;
  300 novice, atom, peewee and bantam level girls (ages 7 - 14 years) from the Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Association
   
WHEN:  Saturday, February 12, 2011
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Girls will rotate between on-ice skills training, off-ice skills training, a skills competition and a keynote address.
