Minor hockey league team to be coached by Gary Roberts and featured on pre-game show during CBC's Hockey Night in Canada
TORONTO, Oct 7 /CNW/ - As both professional and minor hockey seasons get ready to kick-off, the Humber Valley Sharks minor boys hockey team feels as though they've already won. The team, through Scotiabank's Community Hockey Sponsorship Program, will appear on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, as they introduce the very first Canadian NHL game of the season on the pre-game show, Scotiabank Hockey Tonight, at 6:30 p.m. EST this evening, Thursday, October 7, 2010.
To launch their 93rd season, the NHL today will be hosting a celebratory event at Yonge - Dundas Square in Toronto. Scotiabank invites fans to come down and dress up in goalie equipment and test their skills in net by making saves against foam pucks. Fans will also have the opportunity to develop their memory skills as they play 'What's in the Tin?' for a chance to win regular season NHL tickets, Gary Roberts' autographed jerseys and more. Gary Roberts will also be on-site signing autographs on a first-come basis, at 6 p.m.
