TORONTO, May 20 /CNW/ - Tires will be pumped and chains cleaned at a clinic for cyclists in Toronto's Financial District on Thursday May 27, 2010 by the Friends for Life Bike Rally mechanics.

In preparation for Toronto Bike Month, Scotiabank and the Friends for Life Bike Rally, Canada's second largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser, are transforming Scotia Plaza into a working bike clinic open to everyone.

WHAT: Toronto cyclists will gather at Scotia Plaza to get bike check-ups
from the Friends for Life Bike Rally mechanics in advance of Toronto Bike
Month. The Financial District will be host to more spandex than it's used
    to!

WHO: Scotiabank employees, Toronto cyclists and 'Friends For Life Bike
    Rally' Mechanics.

    WHEN: 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Thursday May 27, 2010

WHERE: Scotia Plaza, 40 King Street West, Adelaide Courtyard

WHY: The bike clinic will raise awareness for the Friends for Life Bike
Rally. Its mechanics are part of the crew who support the 350 cyclists as
they make the six day, six hundred kilometre journey from Toronto to
Montreal, embarking July 25, 2010. The annual event, in support of The
Toronto People With AIDS Foundation and presented by Scotiabank, raises
over $1 million to provide services for men, women, and children living
    with HIV and AIDS.
