TORONTO, April 26 /CNW/ - Scotiabank today announced that the Bank's wholesale banking arm, Scotia Capital was acknowledged by Global Finance magazine as Best Investment Bank in Canada and Best Infrastructure Bank globally. Deals announced or completed in the last three quarters of 2009 or the first quarter of 2010 were considered. Winners will be honored in an awards ceremony in Washington DC, in October.

"Scotia Capital has identified the infrastructure sector as a key target market given its significant growth potential in Canada and globally," said Michael Durland, Group Head, Global Capital Markets, and Co-Chief Executive Officer, Scotia Capital.
