- Scotiabank to host arrival dinner with Saskatchewan Premier, Regina Mayor and other surprises*
WHAT: This evening at 6 p.m., Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall and Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco will help a group of young Saskatchewan cancer patients and their families get in the Grey Cup spirit at a dinner hosted by Scotiabank at their hotel. The Chris Knox Foundation has teamed up with several supporters, including Scotiabank, to make this weekend's trip to cheer on the Roughriders at the Grey Cup possible. The Foundation was established in memory of Knox who died from cancer shortly after watching his beloved Riders win the 2007 Grey Cup in Toronto. Scotiabank will also be presenting the children with Roughriders jerseys to wear to the big game on Sunday! WHEN: Friday, November 27, 2009 6 - 7 p.m. WHERE: Travelodge Hotel Calgary Macleod Trail Heritage Room 9206 Macleod Trail S.E. WHO: 10 Saskatchewan cancer patients aged 6 - 18 and their families Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco Chris Knox Foundation representatives and volunteers Colleen Bessel, Vice-President, Saskatchewan South, Scotiabank WHY: The Chris Knox Foundation helps make it possible for children and young adults battling cancer or in palliative care to attend sporting, fine arts and cultural events during treatment, giving them a much-deserved reprieve and creating some happy memories with their families. * Please Note: Unfortunately, the event started late due to snow in Calgary which delayed the group's flight. As a result, Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall and Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco were unable to attend afterall due to other commitments this evening.
