What: The "Pre-Nuit" event will welcome many of the artists of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2009 and thank them for sharing their creativity and vision. The evening will feature remarks from key supporters, and a hint of some of the artistry to come on the big night. Who: Chris Hodgson, Scotiabank Group Head, Canadian Banking Councillor Kyle Rae, Toronto Centre-Rosedale Honourable Monique Smith, Minister of Tourism Kathryn Harvey, Artist Cathy Gordon, the Bouncing Bride, will perform beginning at 5:30 at the King Street entrance to Scotia Plaza, 40 King Street West Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2009 Artists When: Thursday, October 1, 2009 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.(remarks begin at 7:00 p.m.) Where: Scotia Plaza, enter at 40 King Street West Why: Scotiabank Nuit Blanche is a free city-wide sunset-to-sunrise celebration of art. For one sleepless night the familiar is discarded and Toronto is transformed into an artistic playground, as contemporary art installations are found unlikely places throughout the city. Also, Toronto museums, galleries, art venues, neighbourhoods and institutions open their doors for one night only - all night long. An annual signature event for the City of Toronto, Scotiabank Nuit Blanche returns on October 3, 2009.
