Road closure Advisory - Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon runners and spectators take to the streets!
Road closures in effect from Saturday, September 26, 12 noon to Sunday,

TORONTO, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - The 20th annual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5km Run/Walk takes place this Sunday September 27, 2009 starting at 7:30 a.m. An estimated 20,000 competitors are expected to participate in the race and the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, which supports 99 recognized charities. Spectators from neighbourhoods along the race route can also support their local runner and raise money in the Neighbourhood Challenge, supporting a neighbourhood charity while enjoying community festivities. This year's event hopes to raise more than $1.5 million for participating local charities.

    -   Elizabeth Street from Hagerman Street to Bay Street (Access for Local
        Traffic Only) - closed Saturday, 12 noon - Sunday, 6 p.m.
    -   Hagerman Street, from Elizabeth Street to Bay Street- closed
        Saturday, 12 noon - Sunday, 6 p.m.
    -   James Street, from Queen Street West to Albert Street (Access for
        Local Traffic Only) - closed Saturday, 12 noon - Sunday, 6 p.m.
    -   Albert Street, from Bay Street to James Street (Access for Local
        Traffic Only) - closed Saturday, 12 noon - Sunday, 6 p.m.
    -   Bay Street, from Queen Street to Lakeshore Boulevard - closed Sunday,

    -   Leslie St. from Commissioners St to Lakeshore Blvd (northbound lanes
        only) - closed Sunday, 6 a.m. - 1 p.m.
    -   Lakeshore Boulevard, from Leslie Street to Woodbine Avenue, eastbound
        lanes only - closed Sunday, 6 a.m. - 1 p.m.
    -   Front Street, from Bay Street to Parliament Street - closed Sunday, 6
        a.m. - 2 p.m.
    -   Eastern Avenue, from Parliament Street to Kingston Road - closed
        Sunday, 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.
    -   Queen Street from Kingston Road to Nursewood Road - closed Sunday, 7
        a.m. - 2 p.m. (limited crossing available)

    Gardiner Expressway Access:
    ---------------------------

    -   ALL DAY: Vehicles can access on-ramp to Gardiner eastbound from
        Lakeshore Boulevard eastbound lanes
    -   Vehicles can ONLY enter and exit Queens Quay from Rees via Spadina
        from 6 a.m. - 12 noon. All lanes reopen at 11:45 a.m.
    -   From 5 a.m. - 11 a.m., there will be no access to Lakeshore east or
        west from north side of Lakeshore. Reopens at 12 noon.
    -   From 6 a.m. - 11 a.m. vehicles can go east in the curb lane of
        Lakeshore Boulevard West, but ONLY as far as Ontario Place. All
        Lakeshore reopens at 12 noon.

    Other Important Access Information:

    -   From 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., vehicles can ONLY access Cherry Street South
        via the corner of Commissioners and Don Roadway

    Media Access Information:

    Media accreditation and sign-in is in the media/VIP tent, access is from
    Queen Street, west of Bay Street. Site Plan attached. Please refer to the
