Photo Opportunity - Hundreds of cyclists begin 600km journey to Montreal

TORONTO, July 24 /CNW/ - On July 26, 2009, Hundreds of cyclists will
begin an annual six-day journey through south-eastern Ontario to Montreal.
This year, the Friends For Life Bike Rally will be marking its eleventh year
of supporting the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation (PWA) and is looking to
raise $1 million.
"This is my eighth year riding and second as co-chair, I'm proud of the
tremendous effort and enthusiasm, our volunteers bring to this event", said
Todd Ross. "Although we begin the ride today; each one of us have been
preparing for this day for months. The money raised will ensure that the
valuable services provided by PWA will continue to support those in need for
the months to come".
"We are proud to continue our support of the Friends For Life Bike Rally
and PWA. We encourage others in our communities to reach out, embrace and
support this important cause." said Cory Garlough, Scotiabank Vice-President,
Global Employment Solutions.
"There's an incredible feeling of excitement, on the first morning that
really sets the momentum for the next 600 km", said Michael Cress, Bike Rally
Co-Chair. "We're all participating for our own personal reason but
collectively in support of a common goal, the great work and services that PWA
provides to men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS in our communities".
