MONTREAL, April 17 /CNW/ - Thousands of recreational and elite runners will gather at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Sunday, April 19 to run, pledge or cheer at the seventh edition of the Banque Scotia 21k de Montréal et 5K race. In addition to supporting five local charities this year, the Banque Scotia 21K de Montréal et 5K will host, for a second consecutive year, the 2009 Canadian Half Marathon Championships where Canada's best distance runners will challenge to bring home the title.What: The Banque Scotia 21k de Montréal et 5K - Host of the 2009 Canadian Half Marathon Championships - Charity and Media Challenge in support of five local charities - Open to all type of runners (recreational and elite) When: Sunday, April 19, 2009 9 am - 5 km start 10 am - Half Marathon start Noon - Awards Ceremony at the Complexe aquatique Where : Parc Jean-Drapeau (Complexe aquatique) Who: Top athletes from Canada and around the world as well as recreational runners.Parking is available, but it is strongly recommended that participants use the Metro to get to Parc Jean-Drapeau.
