TORONTO, Aug. 26 /CNW/ - The West Indies national cricket team defeated their Canadian counterparts by seven wickets in Sunday's final of Canada's first-ever Scotiabank One Day International Cricket Tri-Series. Responding to Canada's total of 179 runs off 46.5 overs, the West Indies scored 181 runs for three wickets in 27.3 overs. West Indian captain C. Gayle scored an unbeaten 110 runs and was named the Player of the Match. Canada's Rizwan Cheema was honored as the Player of the Series. The Scotiabank One Day International Cricket Tri-Series was hosted by Cricket Canada and the Canadian National Cricket Team and drew record crowds to the Maple Leaf Cricket Club, King City.Other results include: - August 22, 2008, West Indies 303/4 (50 overs), Canada 254 (47.2 overs). Player of the Match - X.M. Marshall (West Indies); - August 20, 2008, Bermuda 158/9 (50 overs), West Indies 159/4 (31.5 overs). Player of the Match - R.R.
