Pin Campaign launched in conjunction with Scotiabank BuskerFest TORONTO, July 24 /CNW/ - Mayor David Miller, Scotiabank and Epilepsy Toronto today launched the Out of the Shadows pin campaign with Silver Elvis, "Fireguy" Brent Matthews and musical performers Dirty Dishes, as a prelude to the 9th annual Scotiabank BuskerFest this August. The pin campaign is a fundraiser in support of Epilepsy Toronto and encourages people impacted by epilepsy to step out of the shadows and engage in open dialogue about the disorder and the challenges they face. "A more aware and sensitive community will benefit us all," said Geoff Bobb, Executive Director of Epilepsy Toronto. "Our goal is to have 200,000 Torontonians wear the Out of the Shadows pin to raise critical funds for our programs and to drive a powerful message to those living with epilepsy, that they no longer need to hide their condition or feel shame." "Scotiabank is a proud supporter of Epilepsy Toronto and we encourage people to "Pin One On" in support of the great work that this organization does to support people in our community," said Robin Hibberd, Scotiabank Executive Vice-President, Personal Lending and Insurance. "I would also like to invite everyone to join us once again as Toronto's St. Lawrence Market area comes alive for Scotiabank BuskerFest, a fun festival for the whole family in support of Epilepsy Toronto." Pins are available for a suggested donation of $2.00 and can be picked up at any Scotiabank branch or Rainbow Cinemas locations across the GTA. The pin campaign will continue through Scotiabank BuskerFest until August 24, 2008. This year marks the 9th annual Scotiabank Buskerfest in support of Epilepsy Toronto, which takes place in the historic St. Lawrence Market district from Thursday, August 21 to Sunday, August 24. This free, fun-filled, family event will have 80 buskers from across the globe perform jaw-dropping stunts and dazzling acts that you won't want to miss.
