100 fans get the chance to see hockey superstar Alex Ovechkin by entering at www.scotiahockey.com TORONTO, June 11 /CNW/ - Washington Capitals left winger Alex Ovechkin made an appearance at Scotia Plaza today to meet 100 of his biggest fans, in an event organized by Scotiabank, the Official Bank of the National Hockey League (NHL) and The National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA). "It was amazing to have had an opportunity to meet so many passionate Canadian hockey fans today," said Ovechkin. "I have already started training for the 2008/09 season but it was a lot of fun to take a break from my schedule to take part in this great Scotiabank event." 100 hockey fans won an exclusive opportunity to receive an autographed photo from Alex Ovechkin and hear him talk with Canadian hockey great and sports commentator, Cassie Campbell.
