TORONTO, May 7 /CNW/ - Junior female golf players from across Ontario and Quebec will have the opportunity to play with some of the most talented players on the LPGA Tour at the third annual Scotiabank Women's Charity Challenge. The event taking place at Magna Golf Club on Tuesday May 20th will feature golf superstars Annika Sorenstam, who has taken part in this tournament for the last 3 years, Morgan Pressel and Canada's own Alena Sharp. "Scotiabank is pleased to provide this opportunity for the junior golfers to play and interact with professionals from the LPGA Tour," said Sylvia Chrominska, Executive Vice-President, Human Resources & Public, Corporate and Government Affairs, Scotiabank. "This event provides a great opportunity for these up-and-coming players to meet and learn from some of golf's most talented women." The day will include a nine hole shotgun tournament for participants and a clinic conducted by the golfing greats. The afternoon will feature a nine hole exhibition match by Sorenstam, Pressel and Sharp that will incorporate the nine top ranked Canadian Junior girls. The junior players taking part in this year's event are: Nicole Vandermade of Brantford, Rebecca Lee-Bentham of Richmond Hill, Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Brittany Henderson of Smith Falls, Marilyn Cadieux of Deux-Montagnes, Laura Hildebrandt of Ancaster, Natalie Gledall of Stratford, Augusta James of Tamworth and Jaqui Yanch of Barrie. Sorenstam is recognized as one of the finest female athletes of all time and is rated one of the best golfers on the LPGA Tour. Morgan Pressel is the youngest player in LPGA Tour history to win a major championship. Canadian Alena Sharp has been playing golf since the age of 10 and had a very successful junior career before her first full year on the LPGA Tour in 2006.
