Male breast cancer to be a conference focus TORONTO, March 31 /CNW/ -WHY: Scotiabank, the premier sponsor of the 5th World Conference on Breast Cancer to be held in Winnipeg on June 4-8, 2008, will launch a national fundraising pin campaign. Funds raised will provide financial assistance to participants, in Canada and from around the world, who could otherwise not afford to attend. For the first time, the Conference will feature a presenter who will emphasize the realities of breast cancer for men. WHO: Barbara Shumeley, President, World Conference on Breast Cancer Foundation Jean-Paul Dorst, male breast cancer survivor Terry Bjornson, Vice-President, Winnipeg District, Scotiabank WHEN: Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 12:00 noon WHERE: Scotiabank's Winnipeg Commercial Banking Centre & Main Branch 200 Portage Avenue, Concourse Level WHAT: Started by a group of breast cancer survivors 12 years ago, the World Conference on Breast Cancer has grown into a multi- disciplinary, international gathering that allows women of the world to engage in discussion and develop valuable tools to assist them in their journey with breast cancer.Photo Opportunity: Representatives will cut an oversized pink cake featuring the Conference logo to officially kick off the fundraiser. Following the announcement, Scotiabank volunteers will be selling pins in the Concourse throughout the lunch hour.
