Speaks to students at Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute in Toronto and
    appearing on-ice at Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest in Ottawa on Sunday

    TORONTO, Jan. 18 /CNW/ - Scotiabank today announced a new partnership
with Cassie Campbell as the Bank's special advisor on hockey related
initiatives. This morning, to celebrate the partnership, Ms. Campbell spoke to
students at Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute about leadership, team work
and positive role-models.
    Cassie Campbell, one of the most successful and recognized players in
women's hockey, holds 21 medals from Olympic, international and national
championships - 17 of them gold. She is the former Captain of the Canadian
National Women's Hockey Team and is the first woman to provide colour
commentary for CBC's Hockey Night In Canada broadcast. Ms Campbell continues
to promote the sport and in speaking engagements, emphasizes the importance of
leadership, teamwork, motivation, and determination.

    Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute is home of the Birchmount
Exceptional Athlete Program (BEAP), a specialized program where students
competing at the Provincial level or higher are given appropriate guidance and
training to excel in their individual sport. The high school is known for its
excellence in academics, athletics and extra-curricular programs.

    Scotiabank Girls Hockey Fest takes place on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at
Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. The event is presented by the Ottawa Senators in
conjunction with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees and the Carleton University
Ravens women's hockey teams. The day provides novice, atom, peewee and
bantam-aged girls with an opportunity to improve their on-ice game skills and
off-ice life skills, celebrate and learn about the game of hockey with their
peers all while having the opportunity to skate on the same ice as their
hockey heroes.
