in response to a proposed class action lawsuit on overtime pay policy:
    We are confident that the Bank's employee policies have been applied
fairly and consistently.
    We know our managers at every level take employee concerns seriously and
endeavour to resolve problems in a timely manner. We remain committed to
treating our employees with respect and to fostering a positive work
environment.
    With specific reference to overtime, the Bank's policy is based on the
Canada Labour Code.
    Scotiabank remains committed to working with our employees to ensure that
we continue to be an employer of choice.
