TORONTO, Nov. 6 /CNW/ - Scotiabank today announced the winners of the Scotiabank Classic at the 85th annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair - the most prestigious dairy and beef youth shows in Canada. "The Scotiabank Classic and the Scotiabank Youth Weekend demonstrate the Bank's commitment and support for 4-H and youth in rural communities," said Bob Funk, Vice-President, Agriculture Services, Scotiabank. "The Scotiabank Classic gives 4-H members from across Canada the opportunity to develop leadership and life skills. In addition to the Scotiabank Classic, the weekend included the Scotiabank Youth Welcome Centre and the Scotiabank Classic Photo Contest among the activities. The weekend wrapped up with the annual Scotiabank Classic Champion and Volunteer Dinner last night. "2007 marks a very special year not only for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, which is in its 85th year, but also for Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Classic Canadian Junior Beef Heifer Show," added Mr. Funk. Now in its 28th year, the 2007 Scotiabank Classic Junior Dairy Show drew 370 competitors from 51 teams across six Canadian provinces. Meanwhile 353 competitors participated in the Scotiabank Classic Canadian Junior Beef Heifer Show. Competitors' ages ranged from 13-to-21 years.
