Personal Banking Customers Get More From Scotiabank

TORONTO, June 25 /CNW/ - Scotiabank today unveiled three new benefits for
personal banking customers. Today's announcement includes a new Guaranteed
Investment Certificate (GIC) offer, an enhancement to the ScotiaOne account,
and an update to the online account selector tool.
Until August 4th, Scotiabank will offer a competitive, no-haggle rate of
4.85 per cent on a 24-month non-redeemable GIC. "We know that our customers
are looking to us for industry-leading products and services, and the new GIC
rate is highly competitive in today's market," said Gillian Riley, Managing
Director, Retail Deposits, Scotiabank. "Customers can lock in their investment
today, and enjoy a great return on their savings."
Also available until August 4th to new and existing customers is a $75
welcome bonus for opening a ScotiaOne bank account. With a low flat monthly
fee, this account provides customers with unlimited ABM, branch, online and
telephone banking transactions. Customers who open a ScotiaOne account and set
up either a direct payroll or pension deposit, or two pre-authorized debits,
will receive the bonus.
Scotiabank's SCENE entertainment rewards program is a valuable add-on to
the ScotiaOne offer. By linking a ScotiaOne account to the SCENE program and
using a SCENE ScotiaCard, customers can earn points that they can use for
movie tickets or concession treats, simply by using their debit card.
"By enhancing our account packages and building on innovative programs
like SCENE, Scotiabank can offer our customers a value that is unmatched,"
said Ms. Riley.
The Bank also announced that the online account selector tool has been
updated to include more features to help Canadians choose the right chequing
account option. "We know the importance of making sure that our customers are
in the account package that best reflects the way that they choose to bank,"
added Ms. Riley. "The account selector tool will help get them there by
suggesting the appropriate account and allowing the customer to compare it to
other accounts offered by Scotiabank."
