Media Advisory - Examining Father-Daughter Relationships and Eating Disorders at Sheena's Place Breakfast

    TORONTO, Feb. 5 /CNW/ - The sixth Annual Sheena's Place Awareness
Breakfast, presented by Scotiabank, hosts Dr. Margo Maine, author of Father
Hunger: Fathers, Daughters and the Pursuit of Thinness. Dr. Maine will examine
father-daughter relationships and the increase of incidence in eating
disorders, in relation to her book.What:   Sheena's Place is a community-based, not for profit organization
            that offers hope and support to individuals and families affected
            by eating disorders and related issues. The sixth Annual Sheena's
            Place Awareness Breakfast, presented by Scotiabank takes place
            during Eating Disorders Awareness Week which runs from February 5
            to 9, 2007.

    Why:    According to Sheena's Place, eating disorders have the highest
            mortality rate of all mental illnesses. Anyone can develop an
            eating disorder regardless of age, race, gender or background,
            however anorexia and bulimia affect primarily women in their
            teens and 20s. Studies report both disorders in children as young
            as six years as well in adults as old as 75. Sheena's Place is
            focused on the education, awareness and prevention of eating
            disorders in addition to offering over 50 weekly support groups
            at no charge. The goal of this corporate breakfast, sponsored by
            Scotiabank, is to provide the audience with an opportunity for
            understanding eating disorders, as well as to raise funds for
            Sheena's Place's ongoing programs.
